My inspiration for working with thrifted items and natural dyes was to reduce waste and creatively repurpose it. Sometimes in the process of creating something new, you need to do a few trial runs to get it just right.

I created this section of the shop to sell those practice items at a deep discount to eliminate waste, offer items at a price point accessible to all, and help make some room in my tiny NYC apartment for more sustainable beauties. 

Here’s a few reasons why an item might end up here:

1. It was part of a practice run for a larger, custom order. These are often tests to see if I can produce consistent results for a client

2. the item is something I tried, liked, but didn’t feel compelled to create multiples of for the shop

3. I’m testing out a new item for my shop, and want to see how it sells

4. Occasionally, there are aesthetic quirks you might run into with hand sewn, naturally dyed products. Sometimes a color mark accidentally makes it’s way onto an item it wasn’t intended for, or there is a slight run in the material. Perhaps an embroidery experiment didn’t turn out as planned, but the original product is still perfectly beautiful and functional
